The Sunset Crest & Holetown area of Barbados is situated in the parish of St. James, mid-way along the island’s beautiful west coast. It is internationally known as the ‘Platinum Coast’ because of its fine, white sandy beaches. The warm, calm, clear blue sea and incredible sunsets make it a great location, and the area is very popular with the many rich and famous celebrities who love to holiday there.

Sunset Crest is a community consisting of over 300 homes not far from the prestigious Sandy Lane estate. The streets are all named after local plants and flowers.

It is in present-day Holetown - the 3rd largest town in Barbados - that English sailors first landed in Barbados in 1625, claiming the island for King James I. Therefore the first settlement in Holetown was originally named Jamestown. Holetown acquired its name because of the off loading and cleaning of ships in the very small channel located within the immediate vicinity of the town.

Local amenities include:- Many water sports - including scuba diving, snorkelling, para-gliding and jet-skiing. Two world-class golf courses are close at hand.

The Beach House offers a swimming pool (where there is free wireless Internet access), a restaurant and bar. The swimming pool is available for use by the Sunset Crest Residents' Association members - and guests staying in their properties.

A very good selection of bars and restaurants offer an excellent choice of food, ranging from good value fast food such as pizzas, through Chinese, Italian and Indian to traditional Bajan cuisine. Many of the bars are located next to the beach - the ideal spot for sipping a cool rum punch and watching the sun go down!

Award-winning top class establishments offering beach-side dining are on hand for that special occasion where fine food and service are second to none.

An excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets are located in Sunset Crest & Holetown. Other amenities including the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre - with its shops, cafes & cinemas, plus lots more - bars, banks, a supermarket, mini markets, a butchers, an ice cream parlour, wine shops, fruit and veg stalls, bakeries, coffee shops, a Post Office, medical centres, the Chattel Village shops (offering everything from souvenirs to gourmet food), and Sunset Mall - a shopping plaza with a small department store (Cave Shepherd) and a cafe plus other outlets - are also within easy walking distance.

Buses run frequently and you can travel anywhere on the island for a set fare of BDS$ 2 per journey.
