The airport is a 30 minute drive and the bustling capital of Bridgetown is 20 minutes away by car.
This fishing area extends towards the neighbouring Paynes Bay Fishing Market. It also boasts a very select group of restaurants, including Il Tempio which overlooks the Caribbean Sea. The beaches along the west coast are excellent for swimming.
The Fitts Village area, with its clear blue waters containing several small reefs - especially to the south – provide interesting snorkelling. The seas here are calm - as you would expect on this coast - although it is a bit more lively in some spots and at high tide. Occasionally you may spot a turtle surfacing for a breath of air.
Fitts Village beach is fairly wide and quite quiet. It is the ideal spot to enjoy the sea, sand and sun or relax with a good book under the shade of the trees that border the beach which is mostly used by locals from the surrounding districts and guests who stay in the accommodation located on the beachfront.
Fitts Village beach is a favourite nesting spot for turtles with many hatchlings beginning their life right there. The Barbados Sea Turtle Project also releases hatchlings on this beach and encourages locals and visitors to assist in this process. (Barbados is home to the second largest Hawksbill turtle nesting population in the Caribbean. The nesting season for these turtles is May to October).
Picnic benches are scattered among the Casuarina trees lining the shore and to the north is a small open esplanade.
Parking in Fitts Village is available at the Church of the Good Shepherd (a beautiful seaside Anglican church) or you can easily catch a bus as Fitts Village is on the main bus route. If you wish you can get off at the Fitts Village esplanade directly opposite Jordans Supermarket.

We found your website very informative and you responded to all our questions within minutes ! Excellent service.
Fidji Beach House (which we rented as a '1 bedroom apartment') is charming and we loved sitting on the patio of an evening having dinner. It was very peaceful and relaxing.
Denise and Rudy were excellent hosts and could not do enough for us. They really made us welcome. The house had all we needed and we thoroughly ended our stay.
With best wishes to you".

"Loved it !
Nice place and better than we had hoped. Rudy and Denise are so nice and helpful.
Irene, thank you for all the help leading up to our trip.
Seb & Hannah - Bristol, UK. January 2011.
"We all had the most wonderful time at Bibians and Fidji Beach Houses. It was all absolutely perfect.
We made full use of the lovely veranda overlooking the beach at Bibians, cooking local fish on the BBQ every night bought from the local fish market.
We had monkeys visiting us every day and had a turtle come right in - swimming up to the beach in front of us.
My granddaughter helped the local fisherman rescue their sprats from the nets right on the beach.
The houses were traditional and cosy and Rudy was on call if needed".
